Not just this job, but the next one— Moving Forward
Our MORE program assists individuals not just to obtain a job, but to reach sustainable living wages. MORE assists individuals to get better jobs after stabilizing their finances with the first one. Over the past three years, 151 participants returned and obtained better jobs with an average of $2.06/hour increase in pay to an overall wage of $14.78/hour. This was obtained through additional training, career coaching, or job search targeted toward higher paying jobs, as directed by career consultants.
Jewish Family Services was awarded $272,000 by United Way of Central Ohio for 2017 to provide career services that help fight poverty. As a part of the United Way network, we use the latest data and research on the root causes of poverty, and partner with other United Way agencies to utilize transformative approaches to effectively reduce poverty.
