This programming is funded primarily by the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany and JewishColumbus. Our ability to provide support for Holocaust Survivors was dramatically increased when JewishColumbus launched the Holocaust Survivor Initiative, with donations from the local supporters and matching funds provided by the Wexner Family Foundation. Between 2014 and 2022, Jewish Family Services leveraged Holocaust Survivor Initiative funding to attract over $11.5 million in additional support for our work with Survivors.

Lyudmila’s Story

Lyudmila came to the United States in 1991. She settled in Chicago where her sister had been living. Her daughter and granddaughter resettled in Columbus and as the years went on, it was clear that Lyudmila would be better off living near her family. But would the services she was receiving in Chicago be available in Columbus? Jewish Family Services stepped in to make sure there was no gap in services.
