Jewish social service agencies across the country are bracing for significant federal funding cuts that could severely impact essential programs like food assistance and housing support.
Here at Jewish Family Services Columbus, we are speaking out about the serious impact these funding cuts have already had on our ability to provide critical services to the Central Ohio community.
As Jewish Insider reports, more than 100 American Jewish organizations provide social services to community members in need across the country. Most of these agencies rely on a combination of federal funding, Jewish communal philanthropy, and local government support to sustain their work.

Journalist Gabby Deutch notes in the article that while Jewish agencies have stepped up private fundraising to fill the gap, “none of them expect to be able to fully cover the cost of programs that have been funded by the government if there’s a massive shift in government spending.”
