“It’s been fun. Everyone is always nice; I feel like people are trying to set you up for success,” Justin says of his first month with JFS.
Justin was somewhat familiar with Jewish Family Services before coming to work with us. His older son attended aftercare at the Jewish Community Center (JCC). When an opportunity opened up with JFS, he thought we might have a similarly positive environment as the JCC.
So far, Justin is glad to have made the move from working with Columbus City Schools to human services. “I get to see the impact of the work,” Justin says. “In accounting, it can seem very removed, but here I see the money providing sustainability and the importance of securing future funding to help people. We might be their sole resource to help them through a difficult time.”
He is hoping for longevity in the role to be able to make positive changes and add innovative processes on the accounting side that may cascade into other areas.
In his spare time, Justin enjoys watching or attending sporting events, coaching, spending time with family including trying to keep up with his two year old.
