Title: Financial Advisor
Board Member Since: October 2023
Kathy first learned about Jewish Family Services through United Way campaigns at a former employer. She consistently designated her contributions to JFS because she understood the impact it had on so many people. Kathy knew that JFS helped underserved families in the Jewish community. When she was introduced to the organization as a potential board member, she was impressed by the depth and breadth of services offered across every population.
“I found JFS’ work to be extensive, specifically, how involved JFS is in refugee resettlement. It is very meaningful to have a Jewish organization helping people of all cultures and faiths.”
One area of particular interest to Kathy is the Financial Empowerment Center. With a focus on providing financial literacy services for women with low-to-middle income, Kathy realizes the possibilities such services have for upward mobility and family stability.
Seeing that JFS offers so much to the community, from elder services and care for Holocaust Survivors, to helping refugees come here and empowering them to succeed, to connecting people with jobs, Kathy is excited to help get the word out about JFS and ensure the agency isn’t the area’s best kept secret.
